Kdybych měla vybrat jedno jídlo, které se dá jíst pořád dokola, je to na sto procent chana masala. Nejen v zimě vás tahle kombinace rajčat, cizrny a koření příjemně zahřeje. Existuje několik variant – přidat můžete i celou skořici, která se v hrnci krásně rozvoní, mango prášek nebo chilli papričku navíc a pálivost vyladit podle vlastní chuti.

INGREDIENCE
RÝŽE
- 1 lžíce slunečnicového oleje
- 300 g basmati rýže
- 450 ml vody
- 1 lžička soli
CHANA MASALA
- 2 lžíce slunečnicového oleje
- sušené chilli vločky (nebo mleté)
- 2 lžičky garam masala
- 1 lžička mletého koriandru
- 1 lžička římského kmínu
- 1/2 lžičky kurkumy
- špetka pepře
- 1 cibule
- 4 stroužky česneku
- 2 cm kousek zázvoru
- 1 zelená chilli paprička
- 400 g krájených rajčat (z plechovky)
- 1/2 lžičky soli
- 400 g cizrny
- limetka
- čerstvý koriandr
POSTUP
RÝŽE
- Troubu předehřejte na 200 °C a ve větším hrnci rozpalte olej, přidejte propláchnutou basmati rýži, promíchejte a zalijte vodou.
- Jakmile začne voda vřít, přidejte sůl a nechte vodu vypařit, dokud nezůstane cca 1 cm nad hladinou.
- Hrnec přiklopte a dejte do trouby, kterou vypněte, aby zůstala pouze nahřátá.
- Rýže se bude dělat 20 minut, mezitím připravíte chana masalu.
- Až hrnec vyndáte, načechrejte rýži dřevěnou špachtlí.
CHANA MASALA
- V hrnci rozpalte olej, přidejte koření garam masala, mletý koriandr, římský kmín, kurkumu a pepř. Míchejte půl minuty až minutu, až se vše rozvoní.
- Přidejte najemno nakrájenou cibuli, česnek, zázvor, chilli papričku a promíchejte.
- Zalijte rajčaty a přidejte maličko vody. Nechte povařit 5 minut.
- Osolte, přidejte cizrnu a lehce rozmixujte – záleží, jak hustou směs chcete.
- Servírujte s rýží, limetkou a čerstvým koriandrem.
